Happy 2010! Now that the festive season has concluded, Track 2000 are looking forwarded to what will seemingly be our busiest year yet! As the training department anticiapte the start of new contracts, the community operations division are eagerlytrying to keep up with demand for new and used stock. As a result, Track 2000 has joined forces with Internet auction website, eBay to reach customers further afield. We will be periodically listing items on eBay, particuarly some of the weird & wonderful items that are often donated by our fantastic supporters. Please take time to browse our site - all of the funds raised will go towards the running of the charity. In addition, we are also registered with Mission Fish (eBay's charity monitoring organisation) so that individual donations can be made directlyto the chairty. Once again, all of this would not be possible without your continued support, so if there are any household items or goods thatyou would like to donate for us to pass onto others, please contact us! |

Track 2000 win award for their work with Lone Parents... Track 2000 were last week named as a 'Partner of Excellence' at an award dinner hosted by Jobcentre Plus and the Department of Work & Pensions. Nominated by Jobcentre Plus advisors, Track 2000 were recognised for the courses and support that are offered to Lone Parents within Cardiff, Newport, Barry and the Vale. Three years ago, Track 2000 piloted a scheme that would work solely with Lone Parents who were interested in training or returning to employment. The two week course called 'Look to the Future' would handle specific issues such as housing, barriers to employment, self esteem issues etc. Working closely with other agencies, our specialist trainers would then look at directing the candidates to the most realistic avenue; whether that be additional training or support from local authorities. The course has been successfully running for three years and during this time we have assisted more than 100 Lone Parents in finding training and employment. Track 2000 are grateful for the close partnership we have Jobcentre Plus and in particular the New Deal Lone Parent advisors who market the course and refer candidates. A special thanks is given to Cath Thomas NDLPA who nominated us for the award last Wednesday... |
