HISTORY:

Then……..

Track 2000 was founded in the early 1990's by two gentlemen with a simple view to help alleviate poverty within the Cardiff area. They purchased their first van and started to collect furniture and pass it onto people who needed it.

Pic 1:- Track 2000's first training rooms / offices in Sanquahar Street Splott (1991). Pic 2:- First warehouse in Bute Street (now Eversheds)

This simple premise started a project which became recognised as a European grant enabled founders Tony Crocker and Terry Parry to purchase a 25000 meter square area property on the bank of the river Taff overlooking the Brains factory.

The building was then opened by HRH Prince Charles in 1998. The charity then began to run the largest community based waste minimisation projects in Wales and continues to this day to support underprivileged individuals, families and community groups.

 Now…….

  • Track 2000 has two community shops (one in Llandedryn the other in Penarth Road).
  • Provides training to New deal clients
  • Provides a waste minimisation program in partnership with Dixons
  • Recycling / reusing donated furniture from the general public

Future…….

Who knows! If we did, we would pick the winning lotto numbers every week!

To top.
